Yakima has broken the mould with their new EasyTrip roof boxes, now you don't need to spend huge money to get a high quality, strong, ample sized roof box with a modern design.
It comes in three sizes, a 400L, 470L, and 550L. With the 400 and 470 sharing a high side profile of 41cm and width of 90cm for real-world luggage practicality. The 470L is a tad longer than the 400L, with an overall length of 186cm vs the 400L box's 165cm length. This makes it more suitable for longer loads such as skis. The 550L is longer again at 206cm, with a height of 47cm and width of 90cm for those who want maximum luggage capacity.
Aside from generous capacity the EasyTrip has a very modern aesthetic, with an angular and faceted look to complement newer vehicle designs. It's not only one of the best value but also one of the best looking roof boxes available right now. Available in gloss black, textured black, and textured grey finishes to suit different tastes.
Fitting the box has been made super simple, it features an around-the-bar system which will fit any brand or shape of roof rack crossbar you may have. This also has a torque limiting feature to get the exact right amount of pressure to secure your rack without worrying about damage due to over tightening. Further to this, it has been designed to allow generous hatch clearance of 430mm when fitted so that most hatches will have no contact issues.
The EasyTrip has also passed GUV and CityCrash testing so you can be assured of its safety in the event of a collision. It also includes a lock for security. Please note that although locks are included, the EasyTrip range cannot be key matched to other Yakima products.
All together what you get is a strong, safe and practical roof box which looks brilliant, without all the unnecessary bells and whistles found on more expensive boxes, plus it's made in Italy for better overall quality control, gotta love it.
