As expected with Thule the build quality of the UpRide bike carrier is excellent, it's solid, durable, and will last for many years to come.
Fitting is simple, and it has a system to move the carrier from one side of your vehicle to the other, an excellent feature which will make use even more convenient. This is an example of the constant small improvements that Thule make to their products, which makes them one of the leaders in the market.
Loading or un-loading your bike is super easy, and the front wheel arm combined with the rear wheel ratchet strap secures your bike solidly with no frame contact.
For peace of mind the UpRide includes locks for securing the bike to the carrier, and the carrier to your crossbars. You can key alike all your Thule products by purchasing matching lock cores which are sold separately. If you'd like more information about key matching please contact us.
The UpRide is great for carbon bikes, and those with non-traditional frame designs or rear suspension due to it not using the frame to secure the bicycle. It can accommodate bikes of many shapes and sizes, with adjustments to fit 20inch to 29inch wheels and tire widths up to 3inches as standard. Carrying a bike with 5inch tires is also possible with UpRide Fatbike Adapter sold separately. It's also able to accomodate bikes with a wheelbase of up to 1300mm, very few other roof top carriers come close to that. It does have its limits though, it isn't suitable for most electric bikes due to its maximum weight capacity of 20kg.
